Company nearby · anywhere, anytime

Everything's easier
in good company. Don't scroll all day — a few minutes of Aihoy! is enough.

Say when and where you'll be and what you're up for — a boat trip, a hike, a dive or just a free afternoon — and Aihoy! finds who nearby it works out with. Then you're on your way.

On iPhone? The iOS version is still in the works. Leave your email and I'll let you know when it's ready.

Not made to keep you scrolling

Aihoy! won't pile on screen time, and it isn't an album of strangers nearby to flick through. If you'd like to scroll all day, dating apps and social feeds are there for that — we'd rather point you to the beach.

I'm building it to be as simple as possible, so it gives the most accurate match with the least use. Filter well, or post your travel window in time, and it finds who or what you're looking for straight away — and off you go.

A few taps, then go and live.
Look at the view, the sea. You can put the phone down.

Not just boats, and not just for one day

A boat rental is one day out of eight. Aihoy! finds company for the rest too — anywhere, anytime. It searches in five ways.

Trips near you

Browse by date, price and seats left — you see what is actually reachable nearby, not an endless global catalogue.

Or by vibe

The same list, filtered to what suits you: style, interests, age range, language. Not more results — better ones.

Nothing posted? Post it yourself

Spotted a six-seater down on the beach, or just got an idea? Put it up, and the people who want exactly that turn up.

Travel window — instead of a Facebook post

Enter when and where you'll be. Only people whose dates overlap yours and who match your filters see it — not a whole group, most of whom aren't even going then.

Radar — for the hours that open up

Two free hours, on holiday or at home? A small boat going spare on the beach? See who's nearby in the same situation. I once arrived on Zakynthos three days early and wandered the town alone — that's what the Radar is for. And if it clicks, give them an Aihoy! — the radar leads you there.

“Sometimes a holiday is too hard to spend alone — and sometimes it's too good to enjoy alone.”

Elizabeth Gilbert's line, translated into holiday

Your partner falls ill, or they're joining you a few days later — and there you are, on your own. And a good dive is too good not to share with someone who's on your wavelength anyway.

The Aihoy! dial at the moment you meet: both phones celebrate at once

Give them an Aihoy! The radar leads you there.

Matched with someone on the radar, and you're a few hundred metres apart? No dictating addresses or squinting at maps: the app shows you which way. (Ahoy! is how sailors hail each other.)

  • Only if you both say yes

One of you offers, the other accepts. It runs on a timer, and either of you can stop it.

  • Compass and distance

The dial points to where the other person is and zooms in as you get closer — right down to 20 metres. The ping speeds up as you go.

  • Aihoy!

Once you can see each other, you both tap Aihoy!: the two phones count down together and the Aihoy! Anthem plays on both at once.

  • Nobody sees coordinates

The other person only sees distance and direction, never your exact location. When the game ends, the location data is deleted.

Same boat. Same day. Different price.

A boat costs roughly the same for four people as for two. The difference isn't in the boat — it's in how many of you share it.

Big boat
€25–50
per person
Forty people on deck. “If you're lucky, you get to sit next to your own family.”
Private, just the two of you
~€85
per person
It would be lovely. You look at the price, and end up going nowhere.
Private, six or seven
~€25
per person
The same as the crowded big boat. Except nobody's sitting on the roof.

The only question left is where the other four come from. That's why I built Aihoy! Set where and when you'll be, and see who else will be there — and what they're after.Figures from a real private trip in Zadar: €170 total, up to 7 people.

You don't have to do the searching

It's not about how many results you get — it's whether the people you find suit you.

  1. 1

    Say what you're after

When and where you'll be, and what you'd like to do: sailing, diving, fishing, a beach day, a hike. Takes a couple of minutes.

  2. 2

    The app searches for you

Out of the travellers and trips nearby, it shows the ones you fit with in style, language and interests. Not a hundred offers — the good ones.

  3. 3

    Team up and go

Sort it out in the chat — it translates if needed — and off you go. For six, the private boat costs the same per head as the crowded big one.

For travelers

You don't need a boat to set off

Find something nearby, join someone else, or organise your own. All it takes is an idea and a date.

Shared plans

Brought together by vibe, interests and language — with people you actually click with.

Chat with translation

They write in their language, you read it in yours. Language is no barrier.

A safe space

A friendly crowd with clear rules. Women-only trips, reporting, blocking, moderation, 18+.

Share with one link

Send a trip or your travel window to anyone with a single link — WhatsApp, a Facebook group, wherever. Whoever opens it sees what matters without the app, and can join with one tap.

Set it up once, let it run

Charter, tour operator or boat rental? Post your trips and let the app handle bookings — with zero commission.

Recurring trips

14 days × 3 slots with one tap. No need to re-enter them every day.

Booking management

Requests, approvals, cancellations, headcount — all in one place, with notifications.

Boat gallery

Separate personal and boat photos. Pictures sell better than words.

Chat with translation

Your German or Polish guest writes in their language, you read it in yours.

Captain pricing

The captain and crew aren't paying seats — so the per-person price is real.

Zero commission

What you use today stays free. We don't take a cut of your bookings.

Every trip gets a link

Every trip gets its own shareable link — post it to a Facebook group or send it on WhatsApp. Whoever opens it sees the price, the date and the free seats right away, no app required.

Just launched — be patient

In the first weeks the radar will be quiet. That's not a bug, it's the beginning. An app like this is like a new bar: it gets good once people start showing up.

If you like what you see: tell one person you'd happily go somewhere with. That's enough.

An old idea, a quarter century late

Twenty-five years ago I built a hotel-booking system. It worked. I just never saw how big the opportunity was — years later it hit me that I'd once had Booking.com in my hands, and hadn't noticed.

It doesn't weigh on me. I've made peace with the fact that back then I couldn't see it — it was meant to be. But now that there's a second idea in front of me, I don't want to let go until I get to the point where it no longer depends on me alone.

There's one thing I want to find out: whether it works.

I build Aihoy! alone, in the evenings, alongside work and a small child. No company, no investor, no marketing budget behind it — just one person looking for an answer.

If you'd like to see it continue

Aihoy! is free, and what you use today stays free. If you feel like supporting the work, a coffee goes a long way — that's roughly what keeps it running each month.

Support — Ko-fi

Support is voluntary. It doesn't unlock any in-app paid feature or advantage.
